Today Katra Police apprehended inter state gang of thieves. Presently the Shops, Hotels and other establishments of Katra town are closed due to ongoing lockdown during Covid-19 pandemic. Taking advantage of the situation a gang of thieves mostly the drug addicts adopting different modus operandi conducted thefts at different places in Katra town and for that the case FIR No’s 43/2020, 74/2020 & 79/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC which were registered at P/S Katra. Consequently, Katra Police intensified night patrolling’s to check this menace, as some of the shops and hotels of Katra town do not have closures/shutters. Accordingly, a special team headed by Inspector Varinder Singh and Inspector Pardeep Gupta (SHO P/S Katra) under the supervision of Sh. Kuljit Singh (SDPO Katra), Sh. Naresh Singh (Addl. SP Katra) & overall supervision of SSP Reasi Smt. Rashmi Wazir was constituted. Working on these cases Katra Police succeeded in apprehending 04 thieves namely 1. Jatin Bhati S/O Rakesh Kumar R/O Amritsar A/P Katra 2. Shankar Singh S/O Madan Singh R/O Pathankote A/P Katra 3. Tuhit S/O Khan Mohd. R/O Haryana A/P Katra 4. Rajat Kumar S/O Rajesh Kumar R/O Paroh Tehsil Katra Distt. Reasi and some scrap dealers of Katra town who purchased the stolen items from these thieves and recovered the below mentioned stolen items from their possession....

The approximate value of the recovered property is 2 lacs and the investigation of the cases are going on.
